For a $25 donation, a bouquet will be delivered by an ombudsman. National Grandparents Day was established by Marian McQuade, of West Virginia. Her primary motivation was to champion the cause of lonely elderly residents in nursing homes. A $25 donation will purchase a bouquet, promote public awareness regarding the unmet needs of this at-risk population and fund further educational services and training materials.
