ACA and Medicaid Overlapping Coverage

Hey all,

So I applied for Medicaid in VA in late October and they only just now got around to approving my application, but in doing so, they backdated the coverage beginning 11/2020.

The problem is that in the meantime I enrolled in an ACA plan for 2021 that provided a very significant APTC. I just terminated that plan effective today but the APTC was paid in January while I didn’t know my Medicaid status.

My question is what do I need to do now, if anything, as far as reconciling the APTC and having Medicaid coverage overlap for this one month? ACA has said there is nothing they can do about the APTC as it’s already paid. Is it best to contact VA Medicaid and have them change the effective date of coverage?
