Can authorizations be moved from one doctor to another ?

Texas. My family member had to go through hoops to be approved for Hyaluronic acid gel injection for her knee. We are unhappy with our current provider ( a PA working under the name of a surgeon) both for bad injection skills ( she received steroid inj by him already) and trying to milk insurance company by making us come in for 2-3 extra visits when he could’ve sent us straight to Physical therapy (after as his office claims insurances first denial of HA inj/ requirement of PT first) or bringing us in needlessly for a third visit when he didn’t even examine her and I had spoken to him over the phone the previous day and reported the current situation.

Anyway, my family member doesn’t want to see him anymore but he did send the request (after milking us for the extra 2 visits) and got the authorization.

We’re wondering if we can speak to another orthopedic specialist and basically have the new provider use the already existing authorization on the first visit without going through the hoops again (muiltiple visits, PT, wait for new authorization, etc)?
