Can I change my surgeon after my insurance has approved my surgery with another doctor?

So I’ll be as vague as possible for privacy reasons but here it goes.

I am having oral maxillofacial surgery to correct my bite and my jaw. I have a class III malocclusion. I work at a hospital in surgery and have that hospital’s health insurance with Aetna. But the place that I am having surgery at is out of network with my hospital and is a different company. I was wanting to change my surgeon to one at my hospital which is also in network with my insurance. I want to change because I trust the surgeon I work with more and feel I would get better care at my hospital. But I am worried that if I go to another surgeon that’s in network they won’t approve it for some reason even though it’s approved now out of network. So I just need help.
