Confused as to what I owe

Must Read

I have just started invisalign treatment. I was quoted $5,200. According to dentist “record of services provided form” the breakdown is $200 for x rays and $5,000 for the actual orthodontia.

For orthodontia, my insurance pays 50% up to $2,000. So I set up a payment plan for the $3,200 with the dentist.

I now have the online bill through delta insurance and it doesn’t match up with the “record of services” form.

The x rays part is matching up and fully covered by dentist. However, the orthodontia part says: – submitted fee $2,978 – accepted fee $2,056 – delta pays $1,028 – you owe $1,028

Questions: – why hasn’t my dentist office submitted the full orthodontia fee? – it seems like I will owe far less than the $3,200 I have set up a payment plan for. Due to a mix of in network accepted fees being lower, and the x ray costs being fully covered. Is this right?
