CT Medicaid: Can my boyfriend put our child on Medicaid with him if I don’t qualify?

My boyfriend is currently on CT Medicaid Insurance (Husky D for adults without minor children) when we have our baby, he will qualify for Husky A (for parents/caregivers) by his income. Can he put our child on Medicaid without there being an issue that I don’t qualify for Medicaid and that I have my own employer insurance? I just don’t want him to get in trouble and be kicked off since he is self employed (so he doesn’t get an employer plan) and can’t afford insurance elsewhere. Also, would it be a huge hassle to have him as the insurance holder when I will most likely be making all the trips to the doctors? I currently have a high deductible plan from work and it covers basically nothing so I would feel better if they could be on Medicaid for the time being.
