Federal Insurance Life Event

I am a federal employee and gave birth to my daughter in early October. You have 60 days change insurance due to a life event. On 10/24, I uploaded the hospital verification letter regarding my daughter’s birth. I even have a screenshot of the upload stating it will be reviewed and processed.

Today I received a call from the benefits center stating they received a fax of the verification letter on 12/22 and insurance for my daughter is being denied because 12/22 is past the 60 day window. I explained that I uploaded the document on 10/24 and faxed a screenshot. It is now being reviewed by the claims department. I am panicking and worried my daughter will not have health insurance. Is there anything else I can do? I missed open enrollment and didn’t think to do anything since I had changed my benefits in October for the life event.
