Forgot to report change in income for medi-cal [CA]

I completely forgot to report my change in income/cancel medi-cal. I went from no income to income that is over the medi-cal limits. I got my paycheck from my new job shortly before the pandemic started and it has slipped my mind since. I never used the medi-cal insurance once for any services. I did not receive any annual redetermination paperwork for me this year or any notice that I will have the insurance next year.

I already looked up some old posts. I’m still unsure as to what the best course of action is and whether or not I’m not liable for fraud or any penalties.

Should I report the income change or should I just tell them I want to cancel the insurance? I already have insurance through my job right now.

Thank you.
