Got billed for COVID treatment even though I have health insurance?

I am 23, and I tested positive for COVID back in October. I had to go to the emergency room on two separate occasions due to shortness of breath and chest pains. I have insurance through Aetna which is through my stepdad’s employer. I was under the impression that COVID-19 treatments and treatments for complications from COVID-19 were going to be covered as it was stated in the Aetna website. I get a bill for over 2,000 and when I call Aetna’s customer service and I explain that the website says anything COVID-19 is waived the representatives act like they don’t know what I’m talking about and say I have to pay… what am I supposed to do? The hospitals won’t help me, Aetna isn’t being helpful either and I can’t afford the bills as I have been out of work due to being sick with COVID-19 and pneumonia from COVID-19.
