Help Deciding Dental HMO or PPO

Hi there, I am being offered HMO and PPO. I am unsure which to get as this is my first time signing up for Dental Insurance with my job (no longer have state insurance). I know I have to take out 1 tooth, I have cavities, and I lost a tooth so I may have to have it replaced (to get an idea of dental work). Here are the pricing options: Dental HMO and PPOfirst 3 pages are HMO and page 4 is PPO

Please let me know if anything else is needed. I would prefer it cheaper to pay biweekly with my checks but I know I have dental work that needs to be done so not sure if I should get PPO. Looking at PPO there’s a $2000/yr cap and Im sure it will go over that. Last time I got an estimate, it was around $5000 (nothing was covered by state insurance).

PPO is $50/every pay period

HMO is $13/every pay period

Which do you think I should sign up for? I live in Los Angeles, CA so I don’t think I will have too much of a hard time looking for a provider within the HMO network. Looking into it before making this post, it seems HMOs issue is their smaller network where PPO has a larger. Another issue was that HMO may upsell/not provide as good support.

An issue with PPO is their $2000/yr cap assuming I need $5000+ in work done (but hard to calculate since a percentage is covered, so it could be near the $2000/yr max rate). Please let me know if you need more info or I missed anything.

Extra note: I make $20/hr and I am getting it for my child too. My Bf (his dad) lives with us, but has his own insurance. It would be cheaper to get our son on my insurance plan.

TLDR: Which insurance should I choose for Dental: Dental HMO and PPOfirst 3 pages are HMO and page 4 is PPO

Monthly Rate: PPO $100/mth or HMO $26/mth

Location: Los Angeles, CA
