I moved to a new State two years ago and didn’t tell my health insurance provider. Am I at risk of losing my insurance?

I’m self-employed and have private health insurance. Two years ago I moved from Missouri to California, but was still spending a fair amount of time back in Missouri, and I never thought to inform my insurance company of my move.

The insurance company, in order to save money, is now requiring me to switch to a biosimilar drug (similar to a generic). Non-medical drug changes are illegal in California, but not in Missouri.

I want to avoid changing drugs, especially as this drug is working great and has improved my life considerably.

Do I appeal their decision and inform my insurance company I moved to California two years ago? Could they cancel my policy for not informing them of my move earlier? Could they claim I owe them for the numerous claims made over the last two years? I’m trying to figure out my next move, and thought I’d see if anyone here can offer me any advice…

I signed a lease and picked up a CA drivers license two years ago.
