I think I’m getting scammed

I’ve come to Reddit in search of help and guidance. I recently got health insurance through the American Online Benefits Group. I had told them I wanted a particular company, however, upon looking back I found they had given me something entirely different. I then looked them up on the Better Business Bureau. Reading what others had said about them I knew I was getting scammed. That being said I was able to get insurance under my mom as she has recently Found a new job and prior to that I had just lost my own insurance, making it a qualifying event. However, they are stating things and I don’t understand because I’m fairly knew to getting my own insurance. One statement they made is that when filing my taxes for the year of 2021 I would be facing a $7,000+ penalty for not having health coverage. However, I’ve now got coverage under my mom. He’s also stated that I have to send a transfer of liability but I don’t know if I should. I’ve done my own research, however, I wanted to know if anyone here could confirm or deny these claims. I also want to know if it’s normal for them to be blatantly disrespectful when attempting to cancel. I tried to cancel twice already and the man I was speaking with was screaming in my ear about how I was wasting his time and how I’m an idiot. The second time I attempted to cancel the same man picked up and gave me a different name( I could tell it was him because his voice was very distinct) as well as different numbers for the tax penalty. I’m incredibly lost and would greatly appreciate some advice.
