I’m 21 and filing as an independent on my tax return for the first time this year. Will I get kicked off my parent’s health insurance?

Must Read

I live in New Jersey, and my parents told me if I file as an independent I’ll be kicked off the insurance plan. We have a marketplace plan with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield. When I looked it up, it said this wouldn’t happen because of the Affordable Care Act, so I think they’re lying to me to try and still receive the tax benefits from claiming me as a dependent. Any help on this would be great
