Due to constant back and forth layoff in the restaurant business, my estimated income for 2021 is too low to qualify for premium tax credit to help pay for insurance on the healthcare marketplace. But since I have savings, I’m also ineligible for Medicaid in Pennsylvania according to their website. I can’t possibly afford to pay full price for insurance next year with other bills and lack of steady income – so what in the world am I supposed to do? The deadline to apply is approaching. It’s so unfair that there’s no assistance for folks “in the middle”, unless I’m missing something and just unaware of my options or the correct steps to take?
