Job gap and specialty meds

So I am about to change jobs and looking at a 60 day coverage gap. Just found out I have MS how’s that for timing? Anyway meds are stupid high. My dr got me on a quick start plan and the company sent a 30 day supply, but of course the insurance is doing a “review”. My insurance will be up the last day of the month. Does anyone happen to know if you have an approval pending when your insurance runs out do they still have to pay it?

If so that would actually give me a 60 day supply, leave me with about a 15 day gap and the drug company said they would cover the interim. If not I’m looking at cobra which is super high….
