[MD] Losing insurance at the end of the year but starting a new job – 60 day gap

I turned 26 this year but was allowed by my parent’s insurance to remain on until the end of the year. I’m starting this new job tomorrow and there is a 60 day waiting period for eligibility, meaning I should be eligible by February (or the first of March, I suppose).

I am also currently eligible for Medicaid, but this new job will put me above the monthly income limit. If I apply for Medicaid now, will that cover me through March? If not, as I’m assuming, what other options do I have? Because I qualify for Medicaid, I’m not eligible for any financial help for a QHP.

I have no conditions or issues that would cause me to necessarily need healthcare for two months, so I could forego it until I can get it through my employer, but with the ongoing pandemic it’s not something I’d really like to risk.

Thanks in advance for any help!
