Pregnancy and surprise trip to the US

I’m in tears here, so any help would be most appreciated.

I live in Thailand with my husband and we just found out we are expecting our first child. However, on December 16th I found out I need to return to the USA (Michigan) as my father is entering hospice.

My maternity coverage is only for Thailand (per the policy – I’m in the Thai social system and I have supplemental private insurance). Every single policy I’ve seen has a 10-12 month waiting period for maternity coverage.

Because I’m not currently in the US, I can’t get the MIBridges (Michigan healthcare/support e-system) page to work even with a VPN, so I can’t sign up for that in advance.

I am a US citizen, but I have not lived there since 2014. I’ve had to leave my job to be with my family, so price is a factor, too. Any advice or ideas for how to get coverage?
