[TN] I’m eligible for benefits at my new job. It’s a CA medical plan which offers benefits to domestic partners. TN does not officially recognize domestic partners. Will my domestic partner still be covered?

I work remotely for a company based in CA. I spoke to my HR department, and they said the company has no restrictions on domestic partner benefits, although they won’t pay for any of the extra premium, which is fine.

I’m a little worried that because TN doesn’t recognize domestic partnerships I might end up with a nasty surprise in my mailbox after a doctor’s visit.

I have read through the EOB and saw no verbage referencing this. I’ve tried contacting the carrier, but their offices have been closed for the holiday. I need to be enrolled one way or the other by Nov 30.
