UK citizen get access to US health insurance

We currently live in the UK and unfortunately our baby was diagnosed with bilateral renal agenesis. Our only hope of the baby’s survival is a clinical trial currently running in the US.

However in order to get access to the trial, we need US health insurance to fund the treatment.

A few questions:

Is there anything we can do to get the NHS to fund this?

Is is possible to purchase US medical insurance as a uk citizen, or would this knowledge count as a pre-existing condition?

I currently work for a US company (although based in the UK) – is it possible to be transferred to the US, and if there was medical insurance available, to have that applied to my wife?

Are there any other options?

Thank you in advance.
