Hello, I realize that I have no idea what state to begin searching for health insurance in due to many factors this year. I am a student, but unsure if I am re-enrolling in January so I plan to apply for medicaid. My problem is:
-I currently live in Virginia with my boyfriend, we signed a lease this last September. I just changed all my bank statements to this address last month.
-My car is registered in Illinois, and my previous permanent address was there as well (my parents’). I lived there from March to September this year. (I wanted to register my car in NJ, but DMVs all shut down before I could do so, and then I moved back to IL).
-I have a driver’s license for New Jersey, where I was going to school at a public university. I got a license there as an attempt to get in-state tuition, but world circumstances made it all online, which is why I moved to Virginia. I also have 3 student jobs, all based at the university in New Jersey but now all online.
What state do I need to contact? I’m very new to this, and am very confused already. Thank you in advance.
Also, any advice in applying? I don’t know what they will need from me at all, or if I can even provide it before the deadlines.
