Hi everyone! Thankfully I’m really fortunate to have two job options on the table. One is public sector and the other is private. I was wondering if you guys could help me figure out which one offers better health benefits because it’s very confusing for me!
Public sector job –
$1,259.02/month cafeteria benefit plan including medical and dental options (City participates in the CalPERS medical insurance plans); City paid life insurance, long-term disability and vision insurance for the employee.
Private sector job (family, myself and spouse would be $225/month) Kaiser California HMO network:
Kaiser CDHP + HSA ($2,000/$4,000 Deductible)
Annual Deductible: $2,000/Single; $4,000/Family (embedded individual $2,800)
Annual OOP Max: $4,000/Single; $7,150/Family (embedded individual $4,000)
Preventive Care: Covered 100%
Covered Services: 10% AD Rx: $10 AD, $30 AD, 20% AD up to $200 Specialty
