Can an insurance provider legally require my primary insurance info?

I’m double covered and my secondary insurance provider (Prominence Health Plan) sent a random letter requesting my primary insurance info. I ignored it and messaged them essentially saying that was none of their business. I’m paying them the same whether or not I’m double covered. Got a claim today (it was covered by my primary) but it had a note that I didn’t respond to their request and claims will be denied.

How is that legal? Curious if I have a leg to stand on or just fork over the info.
