Okay, so I’m in a bit of a pickle. My husband and I relocated to Florida from Virginia. We’re teachers, so our calendar changed with the move (we previously started in Sept and now start in august). My new employer will insure me from day 1 due to the change in job, but I just realized that our previous employer will still have us insured under their plan. We stopped paying premiums back in May if that makes a difference but coverage for our previous employer lasts until August 31st. Is my only option to go without insurance until open enrollment or is it common to just withhold starting the new plan until our previous coverage ends? Help. I can’t go without Healthcare until January.
