Hi everyone! I was asked by my OB office to pay a $35 payment for services rendered at the previous appointment (office visit which I think explains the $35 copay plus an ultrasound). I paid the copay, went home, and logged onto my account to see the below details in my billing account. Really confused on what this means since I still have over $2,700 left of my deductible in my low deductible plan before my insurance company begins to cover 25% of the cost, and as far as I’m aware all ultrasound services (incl prenatal) are considered “imaging” which is subject to the deductible first. Does this mean that the insurance company is paying the dr’s office upfront for $574.75, then they’ll send me a bill in the mail later for the cost of the ultrasound? Radiology services are definitely subject to my deductible based on the annual enrollment summary documents, so will I be getting a bill from the insurance company later?
Benefits Summary from Your Insurance
Billed to Insurance $609.75
Insurance Covered-$574.75
Remaining Responsibility$35.00
Copay$35.00
