I am taking a break from my masters degree from now until June 2022, and will no longer be covered by my parent’s or school’s insurance.
I turn 26 in September, and wanted to know if I would be eligible for Medicaid in New Jersey despite not being 65+, having a family, or being a pregnant woman.
I have 0 income, no dependents, have no pre-existing conditions, and am living with my parents until June. Would I qualify for NJ Medicaid or any federal health insurance?
Am I required to look for a job for these 10 months in order to qualify for even the low income plans? Can I go from Sept 2021 until June 2022 being voluntarily unemployed but still covered by any type of free or low cost insurance in New Jersey? Do I need to wait for the special enrollment period to apply? Do I have to be without insurance for 3 months in order to be eligible?
What are my options in regards to health insurance for the next 10 months?
