Hello, I (24F, California) am new to dealing with health insurance and hope to hear your opinions.
My gyno found a mass and was able to capture an image on her ultrasound. She referred me to a center that has a better ultrasound machine to get better imaging. The center reported that they could not find anything unusual, which I find interesting because my gyno with her basic ultrasound could capture the mass. I can still palpate the mass so I know it did not disappear. I am being billed ~$310 after insurance for the ultrasound that resulted nothing and would like to ask if it would be possible to dispute the claim.
I understand that in health care, once the procedure has been done, it will be billed. But seriously, do I have to pay out of pocket for nothing when I strongly believe the ultrasound tech should have been able to image the mass?
Please let me know your thoughts, and I really appreciate your help!
