Hey guys! So I had some new onset symptoms, went to the doctor, the doctor ordered a bunch of blood work to rule things out and I just got an email saying none of the blood work was covered by my insurance. The rationale behind not covering is that it is “inconsistent with my clinical diagnosis” and the testing is “investigational” or “experimental”. What’s even weirder to me is one of the tests the doctor ordered came back positive and the rationale for not covering that test is the same as stated above…but clearly it is consistent with my diagnosis if the test came back positive, haha. Anyway, I reached out to my physician who told me the codes she ran should be enough for them to approve coverage but that she’d look into it more tomorrow and see if she could add more codes to help. Is there anything I can do or ask of my physician additionally to prove why it should be covered to insurance?
