Hi all, just wanted to get some validation that I’m doing this correctly based off of what I’ve seen online and around reddit. My current coverage ends on 02/28/2021 and new health insurance won’t start until 05/01/2021 and I’m in California.
I plan on having the paperwork on hand with me and only retro-actively enrolling for it if we have an emergency. Hoping that the next 2 months will be fine without having to use insurance since we don’t go out anyways and WFH. If that’s the case, I won’t have to pay anything for Cobra correct?
If all goes accordingly, I’m hoping to be able to just transition just into my new health insurance plan without having to pay for Cobra coverage. Oh last question, does anyone know if insurance is still needed every month for taxes in CA, would this 2 month gap be ok? Thank you!
