I was covered by Medicaid for part of 2019 until I got a new job with health insurance. When I went on my group insurance, I distinctly remember being told by someone with the insurer or state that my medicaid was cancelled once I went on my new plan (but cannot recall by who). I never thought anything of it after that, and just used my new insurance for everything.
Recently I received a tax form indicating that I was covered by Medicaid for all of 2020. I have no idea if the form was sent by mistake or if I was somehow not properly removed from Medicaid in 2019. My new job thankfully caused my income to rise to where I no longer qualify.
Does anyone know how I should go about fixing this? I was thinking call the state medicaid office, but I don’t want to somehow create a bigger issue. Thanks for any help!
