I am considering taking a new position and having trouble understanding how to think about the healthcare coverage gap between the positions. My current job ends coverage on the last day of employment. My perspective position has a policy of “Insurance coverage takes effect on the first day of the month following sixty-days (60) days or two full calendar months of employment, whichever comes first. ” So if I started the new job on 3/20, coverage would start on 6/1.
I am hoping someone might be able to provide guidance on how to cover the gap. Do I just need to sign up for COBRA and eat the high cost?
