On my insurance card, explanation of benefits, and summary of benefits and coverage it says that there’s a 4,000 dollar family deductible and a 2,000 dollar deductible for each individual of the family that they can meet for themselves before the family deductible is met.
But my insurance is acting like the individual deductible doesn’t exist even though it’s on all of these documents. Someone from Empire Is supposed to call me Friday but I already made a complaint with my states division of consumer affairs saying that they are either fucking this up or they’ve intentionally misrepresented the plan to me.
What else can I do? The insurance is through my moms employer, should I get the employer involved?
This is only pressing because I have meds I take to not kill myself and I’ve already met my individual deductible but they’re acting like my plan doesn’t have an individual deductible. Maybe I’m paranoid but I also feel like they’re doing this because last year I met my out of pocket and everything and was able to get tens of thousands of dollars in treatment covered in full.
