Hi Everyone
I am having a very annoying time right now.
I am getting an MRI scan tomorrow morning that I scheduled two weeks ago. I have health insurance.
I get a call right now from the place doing the scan, saying that my doctor has not submitted prior approval with my insurance company and told me they have to cancel.
Obviously, I have been stressing this scan and canceling is the last thing I want or need right now.
They told me I can come in but I would have to pay out of pocket. I told them to just keep me scheduled
I then called my insurance company who told me nothing has been submitted, and if I get that scan, without the approval, they will not pay, even if the doctor sends something
So I am very frustrated about this experience. Who is the one who is supposed to take care of this? The doctor or the scan place? Or myself?
I didn’t even know I needed this. The doctor has my insurance information. The scan place. Not one person said anything.
I called my doctors office but was closed and left a message.
Whats the point of having insurance, if you still need to end up paying anyway? Getting the scan asap gives me a peace of mind. I will pay if I have to, its just the principle that really shocks me
