Edit I’m 31 in northeast Texas. Annual income = $30K, combined $100K.
Looking at my health insurance portal with BCBSTX, I see a “total billed amount” (which I imagine is what the physician’s office bills to insurance) and an “amount you may owe” (which is the bit I need to pay). What I can’t tell, however, is which number actually applies to my deductible? My deductible is $7,350. My total billed amount is $2300 and the amount I may owe is $388. So, how much of my deductible is left for the year before insurance coverage kicks in?
Separately, but related, I understand that mandated coverage does not go toward your deductible. How can you find out what mandated coverage is when it comes to pregnancy/labor & delivery in an effort to predict how/when you might reach your deductible?
