Having a hard time figuring out plans. Currently on medical share, but have glaucoma that is costing a lot.

I did the math of what my current situation would cost me if I saw the eye specialist like I should.

$6000 plus visits to primary Dr which could be 200-500 or more. But that’s if everything goes to plan.

Explaining how I got the number (can skip)

-Seeing eye specialist cost $400. Supposed too see 4 times a year -eye drops cost me about $200 a month -medical share cost me around $175 a month.

Medical share covers incidents over $500, but it’s like a 6 month return. So if you break my leg or something they will cover, but you got to pay upfront and wait for that money.

….

Plans I’m looking at with Open enrollment since I’m on contract with zero benifits.

The one that caught me eye is. Cigna connect 5500. Im in Durham NC. This covers duke health and wake med.

$407 premium. Generic drugs $8. Primary Dr .$20 Specialist $75.

$5,500 deductible. 8,550 out of pocket minimum.

Con. 50% coinsurance after deductible. Same with xrays. Diagnostic testing, mostly everything else.

And it doesn’t cover on of my eye drops, which possibly it would for the generic or my dr could try something else.

Other options have other pros and cons. Can’t seem to have it all lol.

I am trying to figure out what I should be looking at.

One thing I am worried about is a bad knee. Possible meniscus tear. I cant get decent coverage for me glaucoma and have decent option for xrays it seems.

I don’t know what to do. If I end up in the ER I could be I paying $5500 on top of my premium

….

Any thoughts on this??
