I had marketplace, then recently got coverage through work, and didn’t realize I had “dual” coverage – do I have to pay 2 months’ bills for the individual coverage?

Hello! I’ve been paying out of pocket for Kaiser for a year or so. As of February of this year my employer has been able to pay for my health coverage, and I chose Kaiser as the provider (convenience, etc.). I assumed that because my SSN and other identifiable information was associated with my account that my coverage would be replaced by my employer-provided coverage. I just learned dual coverage is a thing, and have been billed by Kaiser for my prior coverage for Feb & March. I just canceled it, but is there any way I can advocate on behalf of myself so as to not have to pay for those 2 months’ coverage? ($182/mo. –thanks to the tax credit, otherwise it would’ve been more–, so $364 due…) I didn’t seek any care (nurse call, prescriptions, etc., nothing) during this time period.

Thank you for any advice!!

Updating w/ info per the AutoModerator comment: I’m 28, zip code 97222, and work for the nonprofit sector w/ income ~$32,500. I’m also brand new to Reddit, so lmk if I should change something haha. Thanks again!
