So this is a long-winded post but I will try to keep it brief.
My position was eliminated in January. My boss did not inform me that my FSA funds were “use-it or lose-it.”
I was hoping that he would help out but he is saying that I need to contact the custodian of my FSA account. I called them and they told me that if I want to access the funds, I would have to enroll in a COBRA plan and then they’re able to reactivate my FSA account.
Here’s the issue. I am enrolled in Medicaid and I don’t want to enroll into COBRA and then have conflict with my current plan.
The only reason to enroll into COBRA is so I don’t lose those FSA funds.
What should I do?
