Hello, my wife is planning to quit teaching next year to take care of the family. She’ll be delivering our first child in mid-July, and we’re assuming that once she informs the administration that she won’t be returning, that her employment and coverage will end in early June. We have not found a local Obgyn under my employer’s insurance plan that she likes, and so we’re hoping to be able to extend her current coverage under her current employer’s plan through COBRA for that additional month or two until the baby is delivered in order to keep using her doctor. Does anyone know if she is eligible for COBRA even though she is also currently covered under my group insurance plan? Her plan’s SPD doesn’t specifically mention how that impacts her eligibility and Google has not been much help.
