In the past year, I have gotten two claims denied. Both times the provider tried to charge me the full (non-discounted) rate. I spoke to my insurer (BCBS) and they said that’s incorrect. Even if I am denied I should still get the contracted rate as shown on my EOB.
Is this a new trend? I hadn’t heard about this before. It seems like massive billing fraud on unsuspecting customers. I’m considering calling the state attorney general.
