COBRA Subsidies Under The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021

ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act of 2021) provides for a 100% percent COBRA subsidy for up to 6 months for anyone who lost health coverage because of an involuntary termination or reduction in hours.

Would I qualify? I had a baby on December 28, 2020 and I chose to drop down from Full Time employment to Part Time status effective February 13, 2021. Since I averaged more than 30 hours per week during the last ACA standard measurement period, my employer is allowing me to stay on health coverage through the end of the plan year. We have a non-calendar plan year so I can stay on health coverage through September 30, 2021 and I will pay the same employee premium I was paying before I went to part time.

When my employer gave me the form to elect to stay on health coverage due to meeting the ACA hours, dental and vision was crossed out. Which I didn’t really care. Health was the main thing I needed. I did get a COBRA notice in the mail. I guess because they had to send me one. So I’m assuming I could continue my dental and vision on cobra if I wanted to.

Now that this act has passed. Could I get free dental and vision through September due to me having a reduction in hours?
