Physical billed as New Patient-Extended visit – any luck getting them to change the code?

I went to get a physical. I recently moved so it was a new doctor. My bill came out to $175.

They coded my visit as New Patient- Extended visit which was billed for 285 but the allowed amount was 164. Then I was also added separately for a behavior assessment and a drug screen, and there was an entirely different bill for labs.

If I paid for the additional services, will I have any luck having them change the code to a preventative screening? I literally waited until the new year to go to this appointment. Do I really need to make a 175 dollar “investment” to see a doctor for the first time? I don’t recall this being a thing previously and this isn’t my first high deductible plan.

Sorry, I’m just extremely annoyed. Any advice on navigating this is appreciated- even if that advice is ” you’re out of luck, go have a drink”.
