EDIT: 30 year old male, 85016 zip code, 750 p/w + commission
I was offered a position as an office administrator for a company in Washington State, but the business itself normally contracts all their employees, and I was offered a 1099 employment.
Washington State offers universal healthcare, so it works for all their local employees, so the company itself doesn’t offer healthcare. I wasn’t sure how I would go about getting healthcare for myself, as I’ve always bought into whatever company I was currently with on the healthcare plan offered.
What would be the easiest way to navigate this situation? The new boss is SUPER lenient with when I start, and even said he would change me to W-2 if that would enable me to get any kind of healthcare coverage through Washington state.
I’ve checked healthcare.gov and the Washington state healthcare portal, but I can’t find a real definitive answer on how I am going to get coverage.
Thanks in advance!
