Moving to the USA. Help with insurance please.

Hi, I’m moving to the USA soon and of course, need health insurance.

I have used Cigna through work in the EU, and decided to price their USA plans. I’ve priced their expatriate insurance, so their worldwide coverage.

From my understanding their inpatient coverage across all plans (incl the basic silver) is enough coverage for what I believe I’d need.

I do however need to see an ob/gyn, orthopedic specialist and dermatologist. The outpatient coverage caps seem low for seeing more regular run of the mill Dr’s. For example, they’ll cover up to 3k a year for medical practitioners and treatment on the silver plan, and 5k for the gold. This seems like too little given the astronomical costs of healthcare over there?

Given the fact that there’s such high deductibles and copays with other insurance plans, I really do not want to spend a fortune on health insurance every month and then also if I do need any significant healthcare, paying thousands in a copay.

Tl, Dr. Anyone have any advice or tips? Is the cigna plan a good one in your opinion?
