What is the “de-identified minimum” charge?

Hello all – I am coming off of a recent ER visit and my bill is quite high, not that I expected anything different. I am reviewing the hospital’s pricing online and the charges that I am being billed after insurance are not consistent with some of the “de-identified minimums/maximums”. I guess my question is I am not sure what these really mean and how they relate to my situation.

For example, part of my visit involved a CT scan. The list price for the scan is $3593. My “plan discount” was $1581 to bring my billing on that line item to a total of $2012 (note: I have not hit my deductible of $3750). What I am confused about is – I downloaded the pricing manual from the hospital and this procedure’s includes the following pricing detail:

– The “deidentified minimum negotiated charge” is $119

– The “discounted cash price” is $1756

Can someone help me understand why I am being billed $2012 after my “plan discount” and why I shouldnt be able to pay the $119 or even the discounted cash price? There are other line items with similar issues although much smaller amounts. I just want to be sure that I am not paying more than I should be.
