[NY] I’m leaving my company in a few weeks for another job opportunity and I have a question about how outstanding medical bills will be paid.
My current employer offers “100% free” healthcare which is done with the BCBS bronze plan and a funded HRA debit card to cover the max out of pocket expenses for the plan year. Whatever BCBS doesn’t cover goes on the HRA card.
We have had some medical expenses with my wife for which we have not gotten the bills for and therefore can not pay with the HRA card.
The question is, if I voluntarily terminate my employment, will I still be able to pay these bills with the HRA card since the date of service would have been during my coverage period?
