The Michigan DHS office I’m assigned to…I think is no good. So does most of the people on Google reviews that gave it a total of 1.9 stars.
Basically when I applied for health insurance in December I wasn’t sure if I was going to get any more unemployment (PUA) since then congress extended the PUA until September so I called, left a message, and asked if I needed to update my financial standing with the Michigan DHS or through the Marketplace. I never got a call back, which, according to the reviews isn’t new.
So I went ahead and updated my financials through the Marketplace. I finally got a letter from the DHS office asking me to send my “Tax Papers”. Not knowing what that is I called back, left another message with a question and days later I got a message saying I need to send my W2s and 1099’s and tax returns from 2020 and 2019 as well as my bank statement from March.
The original question I asked is if I update my financials through them or The Marketplace. To which I never got an answer.
It doesn’t make sense to me that they’d be going back to 2019 for eligibility for Medicaid for 2021. I kind of suspect that they don’t know what they’re doing at that office (seeing how they don’t say Covid 19, they spell it out as if they’ve never said the word before).
Has anyone else had to deal with this?
