First, apologies for any weird formatting, I’m on mobile.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Basically, I got balanced billed by a physician who was out of my network (United Healthcare). I refused to pay the balance, spent tons of time appealing to my insurance to try and get them to pay the balance, and basically waiting for the bill to go to collections so I could try and negotiate the balance down even a little.
Well, I got the collections notice last night and called the agency this morning to try and get this bill resolved (finally). I gave them all my information and they tell me that my insurance had paid the balance yesterday and I owed nothing…I was literally speechless.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is this a thing insurance companies do? I’m super confused, but relieved.
