WINfertility waiting period?
My company provides WINfertility through Anthem (NJ). It states there is a lifetime maximum coverage of $15,000 for procedures and $10,000 for prescription drug coverage. My husband and I are currently on his insurance for this year but obviously if we think we will pursue IUI or IVF then we will wait until January and switch to my insurance plan instead.
My question is: will we be able to get started right away if this is the case? Is there some sort of time period that we must be on the insurance before we are eligible for this benefit?
I want to do everything we can this year (husband has done a semen analysis and I’m getting an ultrasound + bloodwork in the next few weeks. I have an appt in July with an RE and will most likely get an HSG) so that if we need to pursue intervention we can get started immediately this January if possible. Does this sound like a likely scenario or am I way off base on my understanding of how it works?
