Parents no longer have Tax Credit for Insurance.

Hello Everyone,

Recently my mom found out that she no longer has a tax credit on her health care plan that brought her premium down. (Dad is on Medicare as he’s 65) Her premium now is in the $700 range when before it was a little under $100. She doesn’t know how to proceed, dont know if there’s any assistance she can get from the state (California Resident).

We’re all stumped on why her tax credit got removed as there was no notice and it hasn’t happened before. Only income they have is my dads retirement which is roughly ~24k/yr, so I’m pretty sure they fall in between the 100 – 400% guideline. The premium is 1/3rd of their monthly income, so I’m not too sure how that works in the affordability of it all.

Anyone else run into this issue and have a fix?
