Question about health insurance as a 1099…I can choose to make Florida or Georgia my base.

I’m wondering if you can help me understand this, please (thank you in advance!). I’ll either be based in Florida or Georgia, depending on where I decide to make my home base. I’m open to suggestions on this because I can go either way and be happy.

I’ll be working as a remote mental health therapist. I’ll be able to control my yearly income. I can easily make in excess of 51K each year.

My understanding is that if I pay myself a full solo 401k benefit, max out my HSA contribution, max out my Roth IRA, and deduct my yearly expenditures such as home office, cell phone, internet, etc., these actions will lower my MAGI to get me down to the 51K threshold to qualify for healthcare subsidies.

Is my thinking correct?

I’m open to suggestions and feedback.
