I voluntarily left my job 54 days ago, and am coming up on the 60 day COBRA deadline. My premium is 2k / month (family of three). Is there any point in signing up for COBRA given that we typically spend much less than 2k / month on insurance? My thinking is that if we do run into an expensive health emergency I can sign up for it then and coverage will be retroactive.
